History is Brief
While she's only been involved as a rally driver for the past five seasons, Jamie Thomas has come a long way in a short time in the world of rally. In 2005, Jamie managed to successfully defend her 2004 PGT Rally Championship title in the Western States Rally Championship as well as earning 2nd Place in the Western Region PGT Championship AND winning the Rally-America Western Region Championship! After spending her rookie (2002) year in a Production Class Subaru Impreza, Jamie then switched up to a 2003 PGT Class Subaru WRX to learn more about going faster and moving up to another level. During her third year in the WRX, Jamie has shown she has grown to know this car fairly well as she is now flying (literally!) down the stages, finally earning her first overall victory at the 2005 Treeline Rally.

Jamie's profile is testament to the determination she has shown to not only get out there and get involved in this sport, but to find success while doing it!

Unlikely Beginnings
Jamie didn't have an interest in cars, rally or racing of any form until she purchased her first Subaru in 1999. It was then that she met fellow enthusiasts who introduced her to the sport of Rally. After attending her first event in June of that same year, she immediately fell in love with the sport and knew she was going to do this to her fullest potential. Later that same year, Jamie began contesting her 1999 Subaru Legacy GT in SCCA Rallycross and RoadRally events. By 2001, she had become an SCCA member as well as an SCCA ProRally Co-driver for Nat Stow. It was late in 2001 that she decided she was ready to man her own rally car and began searching for an appropriate donor car.

The Production Class Car
The donor car ended up being a 1995 Subaru Impreza L - 1.8L - front wheel drive. Jamie, along with crew Dave Clark (Dave Clark Motorsports) and Mike Leonard, built a rare Production class rally car out of this Subaru. In Jamie's first outing in the new car AND as a driver (Doo Wops III - 2002) she managed 2nd in her class, and ended up winning the Doo Wops Series Championship with a first in class in Doo Wops IV. The season was one of learning to carry speed, drive with confidence and enjoy the sport. The car was solid, and in the first full season of rally, Jamie did not have one single DNF. Season ended with one championship and 2 - runner ups!!

Time to Go Faster
By now Jamie had a good feel for the car and the sport and felt it was time to go a bit faster in 2003. She began her search for a new rally donor car. Jamie thought it would be fun to build a rally 5-door Wagon! Thus the search began for a Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon. In January, "Burnsie the Rally Wagon" was found. The car was a salvage out of Calgary Canada found by team sponsor Ion Performance. "Burnsie" was exposed to a building fire, and the car suffered mass amounts of heat damage, thus the nickname. Carter Subaru purchased the car for Jamie and the team, and the work began immediately. In it's first outing, SCCA NW Region Rallysprints, the new car helped Jamie earn 1st in her class, her 1st overall win and the Doo Wops Rallysprints championship! 2003-04 were seasons of learning for the team, but also a season of many victories and strong finishes. In 2005 the team came out flying and managed to capture a total of THREE championships as well as one runner up! Team goals for 2007 include to continue along the path of going faster, attack the stages, and to have fun while doing it - should be fun to watch don't miss it!
