Burnsie the rally wagon slipped, slid and motored his way from start to finish of one of the oddest rally events on record.
After losing it's original date in Sept due to wild summer weather (extreme fire danger) - Wild West Rally was pushed back to December 2/3rd. Nobody could foresee the fact that November would be the wettest record in history in the State of WA, nor that it would snow, freeze, then rain the week of the rally. Due to high stream contamination dangers, the rally lost it's venue a 2nd time - forcing the organizers to scramble in order to host some kind of event!
The result? Day 1 was held at an ORV park and Day 2 held at a local Race track - yes, I said race track!
With the help of guest co-driver Kim DeMotte, Crew: Gary, Kevin and Andrew - Jamie and Burnsie finished 6th overall in the National running and were the only PGT car to enter/finish - thus collecting Subaru's contingency funds.
A very wild weekend! Slippy and sloppy to tricky conditions at 100+ mph on a racetrack with gravel tires!
Crazy rally, crazy weekend, crazy fun!
Enjoy the photos - Jamie
