This month SubaruGirlies.com visits Katie who is yet another PacNW (Bothell, Washington) SubaruGirlie! This WRX is not Katie's first Subaru and she is very familiar with modifications and her WRX reflects that. Katie has been an active participant in the SubaruGirlies's discussion forums, but let's take a few minutes to get to know her a little better.

-Tell us about your Subaru  ownership? What made you purchase a Subaru?
" The first Subaru I purchased was a 1996 Outback Wagon in 2005. I LOVED that car. But the tranny started to slip, it had 170k miles on it. In October 2007, I got in an accident, very minor, but the airbags went off which totaled the Outback. I knew I HAD to have another Subaru, there was no other type of car that even remotely interested me. I looked around for a month and a half trying to find something. I just happened to stop by the Subaru dealership near by me on the way home from somewhere, and fresh on the lot was a 04 wagon, in BRIGHT RED. I fell in love instantly (well almost, the color I had to get used to). Took him home the next day."

   -Modifications? Future Modifications or goals?
"My favorite modification would have to be my turbo back exhaust system. I gained noticeable power and the sound is KILLER. My other most important/favorite mod would be the Cobb AP, because once I got that hooked up, my car ran a lot better. I also have a Perrin up pipe, Perrin intercooler Y-pipe and a Cusco front strut bar. Future plans include: Pro tune, brake upgrade (at least better pads, rotors and SB brake lines), coilovers, sway bars, new tires and a new stereo. I also may be doing something different with the paint in the next year. I'm seriously thinking about doing a black top. We'll see though."

-Subaru stories? Any funny/humorous stories you'd like to share?
""I've been asked by multiple people who hear my car or ride in it/see me drive it what I have under the hood. I get a lot of surprised looks when they find out it's a turbo 4 banger. Always gives me a chuckle. My Subie has a lot of fans, or at least the Nur-Spec does. Ha Ha!"

-Outside of cars - what other hobbies do you enjoy?
"Well this would count as a car type thing, but I'm really into off-roading. I have a lifted 92 Explorer on 37" tires which I love more then someone should love a car. I love taking it off road and seeing how small of a spot I can make it up and through. I also love to snowboard and have been for 12 years now. Photography and reading would be my other favorite hobbies."

-How did you find out about SubaruGirlies.com?
When I joined NASIOC last August, Jamie (Subie Gal) found me and invited me. I joined right away!

-Best thing about being a Subaru-Girlie?
I love seeing other women get excited about their cars as much or more then I even am. I think it's awesome to be able to talk about cars and get a feminine point of view on things.
