In Cabin Air Filter Install - 2001 Impreza RS

Add an in cabin air/pollen filter to your Impreza

For those of you with allergies - or sensitivities... this is one mod/accessory you need!

Filter is a Genuine Subaru part, and contains instructions...

Tools needed:

Phillips Screwdriver

Dremel or utility knife or mini cut off wheel

But I thought I would record the install here

for those who may be interested or curious about adding this to their Impreza

I purchased mine from SubaruGenuineParts.com (click me)

Part numbers: G3210FC000 & G3210FC010

This is not an expensive modification

I had heard that the in car filter was available for the RS, but needed a "cover" to install it.

So that's why the 2 part numbers. 1 is the cover, 1 is the filter

Photos Below show the basic steps to install.

All in all? 30-45min job  - bit of a back breaker though.. TIGHT working space

Some of you big tough guys may have a hard time wriggling into place to install this one :)

(1) OEM Parts G3210FC000 & G3210FC010

filter & cover/bracket

(2) Kit contents displayed

(3) beneath the glove box is where you'll be working

(4) rather than use a utility knife to cut away the rectangular section, i used my dremel...

(5) first cut. entire rectangular section must be trimmed to install the filter

(6) after trimming the plastic out of the way, next step is to install the included brackets - they are directional / only fit one way

(7) air filter slides in - large tab on filter stays to the rear

(8) should fit flush if you've cut out the piece correctly

(9) rubber grommet/seal slides over filter

(10) seal should fit snugly

(11) last step is to install the hard steel cover overtop the rubber seal... screw into place and you're done!

7500 miles later, change the filter
